And the Winner for the Girliest Place in Tulsa Goes to…Pinkitzel!

Welcome to Tulsa, Pinkitzel! I have long awaited the arrival of this girly girl store, from the time I first entered the doors of its Edmond store a few years ago. The opening of this fun candy, cupcake, and boutique brings glee to the hearts of many girls (and boys!) young and old, as well as sugar rushes to those same girls and boys.

How did I begin to explain how fun a trip to Pinkitzel is? For an adult, it’s like stepping back in time, to an era when all that really mattered to you was one thing: Candy. And how to get said candy. For a child, it’s like stepping into a place that has that one thing you want: candy. Oh, and the cupcakes are just a bonus.

caramelOn my recent trip to the newly opened Tulsa location at 201 South Denver Avenue, just across from the BOK Center downtown, I was accompanied by a friend who had just celebrated her birthday. So it only seemed fitting that she try the “Birthday Surprise” cupcake (vanilla cake with a pink almond buttercream and pastel sprinkles on top), while I tried the “Salted Caramel” cupcake (chocolate cake with a salted caramel drip in the center and a caramel butter cream and topped with a soft caramel square). Both were incredibly moist and delicious!

We also tried the Pink Lemonade, which is no ordinary lemonade. This European-inspired lemonade is fizzy! It was quite tasty, and the combo of the lemonade and cupcakes successfully gave us full-throttle sugar rushes!

It’s also an adorable gift shop, filled with items like children’s clothing items, European-inspired stationary, coffee and tea items, toys, and vintage candies. Oh, back to candy again…because you can’t talk about Pinkitzel for long without talking about candy. TRUFFLES. They also have a wide array of homemade truffles. YUM.

When I walked into Pinkitzel for the first time, I was blown away by all of the fun decor — everything from a pink knight in shining armor to a pink carousel horse. The Marie Antoinette-era decor is at its peak in the party area, which can be booked for parties for both children and adults.

If you have a little girl in your life, or a big girl who’s a little girl on the inside, Pinkitzel is the ideal place to take her for dessert! She’ll feel like a princess the entire time she’s there!
