New Broken Arrow Thai Spot Amazes Taste Buds

DSC_0010If your idea of good Asian food is a Chinese buffet loaded with MSG, go ahead and stop reading this post. But if your idea of good Asian food is fresh, healthy, and flavorful food, continue reading.

One of the newest Asian restaurants in the Tulsa area is Amazing Thai Cuisine at 1232 E Kenosha Street in Broken Arrow. They’ve been open for about a year and are great for dine-in, carry out, and they even hope to have a DSC_0008drive-through window open by the end of June. All of the food is freshly prepared by Chef Suban, who runs the restaurant with her husband, Keith.

They have a number of tasty appetizer options, ranging from Spring Rolls (above) loaded with carrots, cucumbers, clear bean noodles, and chicken or shrimp, and served with peanut sauce, to Chicken Satay (below), tender marinated chicken grilled and served on a stick with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. There’s also my personal favorite: Crab Rangoon, cream cheese, crab meat, green onion, and special sauce. The Crab Rangoon (left) is by far the best I’ve had in the Tulsa area.

DSC_0018When people think of Thai food, they immediately assume it’s going to be spicy, but at Amazing Thai, you can have the food prepared at whatever level of spiciness you prefer. So if you’re a little on the timid side, no worries! They will make you something extra mild to suit your tastes. They have an number of tantalizing entrees, including curry, noodle dishes, and fried rice options. I tried the Pad Thai with chicken, stir-fried thin noodles with eggs, bean sprouts, and green onion. It’s a very mild dish, for those who aren’t fans of spice. My husband tried the Pad Ka Prow, a rice dish with stir-fried chicken with basil, bell pepper, mushroom, and onion. It was a medium level of spice and full of flavor. Amazing Thai also offers a number of vegetable-packed, flavorful soups and salads.

DSC_0014If you’re in the area but not hungry for a meal, stop in and try a smoothie! I tried a coconut smoothie, and they shredded an actual coconut to prepare the smoothie! I don’t know anywhere else in town that does that! They also offer Thai Tea and Thai Coffee with Boba. They also have delicious desserts. I tried the Sweet Rice with Mango, which was arranged in the cutest heart formation, as you can see below! They also have a Fried Banana option with ice cream.

If you’re looking for tasty food that’s healthier than most of the options out there, Amazing Thai is definitely worth checking out!
