This blog is for the people who have lived in Tulsa their entire lives but are looking for fresh perspective on how to explore the city. It’s also for the people who are newbies to Tulsa and are trying to figure out their way to the best restaurant, entertainment, and culture. At Tulsa Places, we’ll help you figure out where to spend your lunch breaks, your weekends, your evenings… where to go during the hours of each day when you’re really living in Tulsa.
I’m Lindsay, the founder and editor of Tulsa Places. I’ve been one of those people who has “lived in Tulsa my whole life” and also one of those people who has seen Tulsa through the glasses of a newbie. I grew up in Tulsa and lived here all throughout my childhood, high school, and college years. Then, like so many Tulsans, I grew restless and had to get away for a few years ago. I retreated to OKC and Houston and wound up back here in 2010.
When I moved back, I felt like I was exploring a new city. Tulsa had grown and flourished — particularly downtown. Armed with a passion to “grow where I’m planted,” I’ve set about to share with you some of my favorite places in Tulsa through words and photographs.
When I’m not updating this blog, I’m a wife, a mom to a little boy and a cute miniature Schnauzer, and a PR/marketing professional. I love running and have 2 marathons and 7 half-marathons under my belt. In my free time, I also freelance for Thomson Reuters and LIFE’s Vintage Newsmagazine. My husband Devon and I recently moved to Broken Arrow after 6 years in Midtown.
